The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office is a full service agency, operating 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. Since 2008, The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office has added approximately 20 new Deputies to its rolls. It currently has a compliment of 47 Officers, 27 part-time and 25 full times, also with a civilian staff of 10.
The Sheriff’s Office operates the Beaver County Regional Booking Center, conducting video arraignments to its 9 magisterial districts, along with its warrants/fugitive detail located at the Beaver County Jail, Aliquippa, Pa. It is also the contributing agency, on a monthly basis to the Comcast Television Network, Pittsburgh, Pa., with photos and backgrounds of Beaver County’s most wanted fugitives. This network viewing has shown to be highly successful with its apprehension rate.
The Beaver County Sheriff’s office provides all transportation of its juveniles to their holding facility in Steubenville, Ohio, as well as to other institutions throughout the Commonwealth.
In January, 2008, the Sheriff’s Office took over security at its Beaver County Human Service Building, Beaver Falls, Pa., housing: Children and Youth Services, Mental Health and Retardation, and the Beaver County Office on Aging.
At the present time the Beaver County Sheriff’s K-9 Division has 4 dogs: 3 of which are dual purpose, explosives and patrol, 2 narcotics and patrol, as well as a man- tracking bloodhound. The Units are available for school and civic presentations as well as assisting federal, state, and local agencies whenever called upon.
The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office has the responsibility of its 4 County Parks as well as the Beaver County Airport. It recently has been requested by a neighboring local community to patrol its local township park.
The Sheriff’s Office has 4 trained composite technicians to assist outside agencies whenever a crime has been committed, with the preparation of composite pictures.
The Beaver County Sheriffs Office Motorcycle Unit provides escorts at Veterans and other charitable events, parades, along with its patrol duties.
Throughout the year the Sheriff’s Office provides manpower to assist Beaver County Communities at their various celebrations and events. For over 35 years, the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office has provided around the clock protection at its annual County Fair, located in Hookstown, Pa., as well as assisting the New Sewickley Township Police Dept. at its Big Knob Fair.
Beaver County Sheriff Deputies serve on the Beaver County Emergency Services Tactical Unit and deploy whenever needed. The Officers are also members of the following organizations: National Sheriffs Association, Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association, Beaver County Public Safety Commission, Beaver Valley Chiefs of Police Association, Beaver Valley Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4, and James Naim Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #26.
This year on September 24th and 25th, the Beaver County Sheriffs Office has been called upon to assist the City of Pittsburgh, along with hundreds of other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies at the International G-20 Summit being held there. Dignitaries from around the world as well as United States Officials will be attending this two day conference. During this time, added Deputies will be patrolling Beaver County as security level will be heightened. The Shipping port Nuclear Power Facility is located at Shipping port, Beaver County.
Recently the Sheriff’s Office was honored as Deputy Jeffrey R. Martin was selected as the top student of the Twenty Ninth Class of the Sheriff’s Basic Training Academy at Penn State University.
